Finding a Non-academic Job

General Tips

  • Leverage your connections! Graduation may seem far away, but former students have found it very helpful to start networking as early as possible.  Talk to guest speakers at seminars and meet interesting people at conferences.  It is much easier to get a job when an employee at the company can refer you.
  • Reach out to your network from undergrad.  Lots of your undergrad cohort has been in the workforce for several years already and they may know of openings relevant to your interests.
  • Get your resume and cover letters reviewed at Princeton’s Career Services!
